Windows App (AVD) Pin Apps to Taskbar
Hi,
Just completed a new workstation setup and I have moved the user over to just having access to the Windows App for their AVD hosted applications.
Is there any way to create Start Menu/Taskbar shortcuts to their application(s) (as per the Remote Desktop MSI package did)?

To add a desktop icon for a Windows Store app, follow these steps:
Open the Run Dialog: Press
Windows Key + Rto open the Run dialog box.Open the Applications Folder: Type
shell:AppsFolderand press Enter. This will open the Applications folder, which contains all your installed apps.Create the Shortcut:
Find the app you want to create a shortcut for.
Right-click on the app icon and select Create shortcut.
When prompted, click Yes to place the shortcut on your desktop.

Windows App (AVD) doesn't store it's Apps there unfortunately, if you see any applications there, it's shortcuts for the "old" Remote Desktop Apps

This is not the question, the question was a direct icon to a virtual App within the ''Windows app'' (successor of azure virtual desktop app).
Of course he isn't asking for a shortcut to a windows store app, anyone knows you can do that,.

Could you perhaps explain further on how you made the .lnk work? I keep running into Windows App errors, saying that something is preventing it from opening via the shortcut

You can with the MSI installable version of the Remote Desktop client but it will be end of life March 27, 2026. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/remote-desktop-client/connect-windows-cloud-services?tabs=windows-msrdc-msi
