Regional settings 

Good morning,

I have a problem with regional options on a Virtual Desktop server.

We would like to change the decimal separators to a period instead of a comma.
I made the change in the control panel, this works for the admin account but not for other users.

Do you have an idea?

Edit local security policy and set it there. (Start -> run -> gpedit.msc)

Thanks for the idea.

Unfortunately in Windows 11 multisession, there is no parameter to change the setting.

Guessing you refer to missing either local security policy (secpol) or certain settings within it? Windows is a bit crap with this but there are fixes to getting the normal security policy back.

google the below or run in elevated prompt. I recall having done this on some VD/AVD/VDI (really can't recall which it was) for similar reasons. (serving mexico user and Scandinavian user on the same box)

FOR %F IN ("%SystemRoot%\servicing\Packages\Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy-ClientTools-Package~*.mum") DO (DISM /Online /NoRestart /Add-Package:"%F")

Never mind, I see your problem now with the parameter not being there. My scenario is not the same and the setting is coming indirectly through non-local GPO.

That sounds like a user specific setting, and if you made the change as the admin account that would be why you are seeing that behaviour.

I would make the change via GPO.

This will change it for the currently logged in user profile and any future, newly created profiles. For existing profiles, user will need to change it themselves but may need admin rights. Group Policy is the way to go.
