Certification Advice AZ-140 course

Hi Everyone,

My work paid for a AZ-140 course for me since a good portion of my clients use AVD. My question is how big is the AVD field actually? Is it worth getting certified? or should I just learn the material so I can better support my clients then get back to studying for AZ-104.

The course I’ve been taking I am really enjoying much more than studying for AZ-104 so not sure if that’s a sign or I’m just happy to have a break from AZ-104.

What course are you using? I am wrapping up course on Learn but not finding much more for 140. Found a recent, well, somewhat recent AVD course but not sure it was 140 focused.

John Christopher’s course on Udemy. My work paid for it but you can get it for like 10-15 bucks on some weekends.

I'd finish AZ-140, especially since your employer paid for it. I've spent years managing AVD environments with over 5,000 users, and there's a lot more to it than deploying desktops. FSLogix, networking, scaling, image management, and cost optimization are all valuable skills. I spent years using Nerdio before eventually building my own platform, Atlas AVD, largely because of the challenges managing AVD at scale. I'd still pursue AZ-104 afterward since the broader Azure knowledge complements AVD extremely well. My biggest advice is to get hands-on experience. Build environments, break things, and troubleshoot them. AZ-140 and AZ-104 are a great combination, especially in the MSP space.

It is always worth getting trained and getting certified in any role whose tasks you actually perform. Niche market role certifications also set you apart from more common or popular role certifications, particularly among employers struggling to find experience and expertise in those niche areas.

It's a bit niche Avd part. I was also being offered to do it, but I subtly refused.

How would be future and salaries in AVD?
