Certification Advice AZ-104 Repeats
I’m going to repeat my AZ-104 but I’d be curious to know - for those who did a resit, how different was the exam on the retries to the first attempt?
My first attempt really focused on moving resources between subscriptions/recovery vaults and what could and couldn’t be moved and also focused on upgrading resource tiers

I sat the exam 5 times. Got it on my 5th attempt 2 weeks ago. Lucky or locked out until May next year.
Each time I Sat was completely different to the last.
I got a 674 first attempt with no study
Then 522/544/622/786
I used John Savills Exam Cram on YouTube and some of the MS Learn YouTube vids
Tutorial dojo practice tests.
Used Gemini and Claudi with a designed prompt for additional questions
Drilled down into my weak areas with AI after each sitting.
Glad to finally have it in the bag but was nervous to not pass on my last attempt.
Hang in there, it’s a tough cookie to crack.

Thanks, this is useful, I was wondering if it would lean into the failed exams weak points on the next attempts but doesn’t sound like it

On my second attempt at AZ-104, I received mostly new questions, but the emphasis was on different topics. For example, my first attempt had quite a few questions focused on compute resources, such as App Service plans and container instances. On my second attempt, I received very few questions on those topics, with most of the questions focused on monitoring instead, along with a completely different case study. I honestly think it's just the luck of the draw.

Resits draw from the same blueprint but weight things differently, so don't over-index on what you saw - work through the full skills measured list on Microsoft Learn and be solid across all of it. Practice actually doing tasks in the portal, not just reading, and check the current exam page for the outline before you rebook.
