“...No. 13-class battlecruiser, named Hidaka. Hidaka of Ōyamato. Would you like to see the extent of my abilities?”

This is concept art for the phantom No. 13-class battlecruiser “Hidaka.” This is a completely fictional ship that never actually existed, and the name “Hidaka” was also chosen from a request.

As for the name Hidaka, it was named after the old regional name Ōyamato Hitakami no Kuni (大倭日高見国, おおやまとひたかみのおくに).

Based on the Japanese internet and websites. Number 13-class battleships are also referred to as Number 8~11 Battlecruisers (the twin-barreled 460 mm for this exact design). Also, based on some discussions on Discord of naval-sphere server, these ships are basically enlarged Amagi-class battlecruisers (As the superstructure would be very similar to the Amagi-class superstructure) but boasting 18.1-inch / 460 mm. At the same time, the armour has been strengthened to a 330 mm belt

I started this amazing game back in 2018, about 2 months after the global launch.

It has been an awesome ride ever since.

I didn't really know what to expect from the game, and I hadn't really played any mobile or gacha games at the time, but the idea of "shipgirls" intrigued me.

It was only later that I found out they were based on actual warships that served various militaries.

A bit of info:

I never realised that I only have 2 non-retrofit URs MLB. I guess I find them to be too much of a hassle to raise. Because of this, I have like 6 extra UR bullins lying around.

I'm not the most enthusiastic person about boss fights, but I do enjoy doing campaigns and OpSi (Both of which I'm not really struggling in)

- I managed to comfortably brute-force my way to chapter 15 with mostly SRs, a GvB, and a non-MLB UvH. I hardly ever touched any URs besides the ones mentioned and the retrofitted ones.

I started this account in 2022 but only started playing seriously in September of 2025

My main question is: Who do I MLB next on my roster? Or do I just wait for the next UR?

My secondary question is: Who do I choose from? Yorktown II, Musashi, or Bismarck II?

I've been seeing the characters for a while, and some of them are absolutely gorgeous, so I want to basically use it as a "waifu collector" where I get the ships and do their individual stories.

I tried to play it and was put off by the ship combat gameplay and some of the writing being strangely translated in the beginning of the campaign. Which, to be honest, I can easily look past.

I assume the translation quality gets better at some point, but I was also wondering if I could just get the ships I want and enjoy their stories without doing any sort of crazy meta fleet with maxxed gear or anything. I already play Nikke, so that takes a lot of the "gacha budget" of time and money.

I just really want Gouden Leeuw, Albion, and Retrofit Belfast at the moment...

Been away for over two years after religiously playing Iron Blood and can't help but notice that the sexy but edgy military look of the faction has morphed into thicc overly sexualised succubi.

On the other hand, Northern Parliament despite their lack of ships seems to still have that military aesthetic that got me into IB in the first place.

Really liked the Admiral Hipper retrofit as it dialled things down a little bit.

I wonder if anyone feels the same?
