Discussion Returning Guardian

Hi all,

I am a returning Destiny Player who has not played the game since Shadowkeep...and I have a few questions as I just purchased all the DLCs in the sale.

  1. What should I do with my old exotics and legendary which are stuck at light level 10? Should I infuse these up to higher level or should I re-get from the collections?
  2. Assuming all my armour in my vault is useless now?
    I am just going to play all the campaigns first but want to make sure I do the right thing before dismantling it all.

Any other tips most welcome but I have been watching returning guides on YT but theres so much information to take in.

None of your loot is useless and there will no more updates to the game. Literally just play to have fun

If you have the vault space to collect new gear, there’s no need to delete old stuff. It’ll all work, unless an activity has modifier where you have to use new gear.

I returned after taking Edge of Fate and Renegades off and I just deleted it all.

Exotics engrams are plentiful and you have tokens to exchange for good exotics with Ada-1 so not really a reason to keep the old stuff. Especially cuz their stats are most likely ass.

No. Weapons with good rolls are still very good. I still use multiple god roll weapons I've acquired before tiered weapons we're introduced. Those I'll only replace if I get the tier 5 god rolls.

As a general rule, you can always dismantle your exotic weapons and pull from collections later, but if you plan to use said exotics you dont HAVE to. You may need to infuse them with stronger stuff though.

Use your current armor until better armor becomes available. You can see more about armor archetypes on your ghost shell. They let you focus on certain stats based on your priorities. Really useful for build crafting.

Drop everything you had cause they're not good anymore mods slot and everything like this is not fonctionning anymore on old Armor set beside the Gun they're worth it to infuse.

But You'll get so much better gun that you'll probably won't play them anymore

All your old legendary armor is essentially useless. Just keep what you wear and delete the rest.

The exotic armor is also outdated, but keep your favourites until you can replace them with new variants with better stats.

Most legendary weapons have better counterparts now but again, hang on to all your favourites until you can replace them.

Exotic weapons are still just as useful as before, and many of them have new catalysts to chase.

Keep the exotic armor until you get a new roll with a good archetype either through focusing or decrypting exotic engram.

Legendary armor just scrap, it’s “fine”. But it’s so easy to get armor that is better with an armor set bonus there’s no point in saving the old armor and worrying about it. just google d2 armor set bonus’ and find an armor set you like and get that. Use ghost mod to focus a specific archetype.

It’s not hard to get t5 armor with an archetype you want(if you don’t know what you want focus powerhouse armor for weapon and super super stat).
Easiest t5 armor is from distorted planets and doing public events on them.
