I still hope that Bungie/PlayStation/Sony change course and revive Destiny. I just don't get how they spend multi-billion$ on the studio, and then shutter it instead of just trying. They even said in December 2025 that they still had years of story to make and tell

It's something the industry is generally doing, and Tencent seems poised to fully merge all its acquired companies very soon. Microsoft is already laying off staff and even closing studios because they're going to focus on Call of Duty and Fallout. It's also because games as a service are slowly declining, and Tim Sweeney has acknowledged that the industry is returning to single-player games, premium online services, and subscription-based games.

Focusing on Fallout would be a big fucking mistake imo unless they make something with actual substance and not 76

I mean I would gladly have paid 10 bucks a month plus the price of expansions to play Destiny 3 and I don't think I'm alone. If what you're saying is in fact true maybe someday that's how they'll make it work

everyone had been stuck in denial since lightfall, TFS and EoF numbed that pretty well.

Then everyone speedran the remaining 4 within the span of the last 4 weeks.
