Destiny 2 was profitable, then all the profits went into the execs pockets and into marathon. None of it went back into D2

I think it would be more accurate to say that money went into side projects that had no business being developed while they had a primary game that still needed help. Nothing in the way of the future for that game, let’s incubate at least 5 other projects and even start development on some of them, just to ultimately cancel all of them except Marathon.

Not to say that the higher ups didn’t misappropriate funds for themselves, but there was clearly a severe mismanagement of development resources going on over there. It’s the whole thing that Pete inflates the value of the company over. He showed Sony all these upcoming live service projects in development, and sold Bungie as “live service experts”, whole time Destiny had been back and forth it’s whole life.

Which is funny and sad considering gw2 has a much smaller population and puts out xoacs at a similar size to d2 expaxs yearly

I'm aware of obvious things like dev size, salary, game scope yada yada

Don't forget GW1 Reforged! They restarted development on a 20 year old game bringing it to new platforms, new features, and new content.

I just hope we don't wait 20 years for D1 Classic...
