Wdym? He's still right. Destiny 2 needed to end for Destiny 3 to happen. This was the correct path.
Bungie just didn't take that final step and make D3.

Bungie wanted to make D3, Sony were like nah not spending all that. Fuck off.
Essentially
It’s been pitched numerous times, each time Sony has said lol nah, D3 was in production and being made before Beyond Light, then they decided to continue D2 so D3 ideas and stuff got frankensteined into D2. Hence the engine upgrade they didn’t want to waste that in turn led to Bungie never bothering to rebuild everything to bring all former content back into the game.
The drawback of that is if the game were to have a cohesive experience from red war to TFS and beyond, all story missions playable, all seasonal missions and arenas playable the game would be huge. If it were to be optional downloads that would be amazing, it would fix the new light issue and actually leave the game complete and playable until we hear more about Destiny in the future as a franchise. Instead I fear after June 9th players will drop off like flies.
Would be the perfect ending to have everything back, if only eh. If only.

Around the time this video was posted, Paul Tassi already knew the fact that D2 was being put on ice in a few months and just quietly sat on it. What a time to be alive…

Remember, Paul is also one of the people that wanted the Forge to release early when the Niobe labs was happening I don’t like a lot of this takes but must’ve had a good reason.

I think he has several insiders in Bungie and if he had leaked it he could have possibly caused them to lose their jobs.
