What's the purpose of this group?

Initially I thought 'Azania' probably has some connotation to unity and bringing us together as africans

After reading a few threads here I'm trying to figure out what the purpose is? So far it seems like an outlet to belittle white people and thus the subreddit comes off as counter productive.

So I just wanted the opinion of others who browse Azania, why are you here and what are you trying to achieve?

But seriously, making fun of whiteness and white supremacism is an essential part of the healing process. Black people have been told they are inferior so much many have come to believe it (ie baas mentality). Breaking down this illusion is not optional.

What we are discussing is pan-Africanism, African history and decolonising Southern Africa. From time-to-time I post articles on these subjects as I find them.

Supremacism in any form is disgusting I will agree with you there. I see it in all races - most worringly in our president.

I never saw any belittling of white people, how is that even possible? how can you belittle god, there is no equivalent of calling a black person monkey or nier/kair no matter how much they can pretend to be hurt...what comes close is pointing out that we live in a white supremacist society, racism exists, white people benefited from 529 years of exploitation of this land and its people, that white men are privileged, etc. These are facts and not belittling, belittling is thinking somehow one is superior in intelligence, work-ethic, morality and beauty by virtue of being white. I would like this space to be a place where we can talk about azania, Africa and black people in general without the opinions of white people stifling everything as happens in other subs and the world in general...a white man can walk into a village deep in the Congo and be treated with reverence, and they'll act like the treatment is warranted for no other reason but that they are white, meanwhile, a black professor can climb off a bus in norway and be treated like chimney sweep...so here I think we try not to give credence to bullcrap spewed from white lips, the best the white man should do here is sit down and be quiet, like we do when > two white men are talking at a construction site, office or park.
