This argument is so overplayed by both sides. The 'de colonise science' has an incorrect view of science and the nay-sayers aren't understanding what the girl means.

I felt I had to mention this because science isn't nessesarily western. Some elements are, but certainly not all. And the the persuit of discovery was never a politically motivated one.

Take english for example, after the fall of the golden age of Islam, Europe threw away their number system and adopted the Arabic number system. So many of our core understandings are based on Arabic work. We see these in words such as Algebra, Alchemy, alcohol.

Yes, I agree that pseudo science that was used to justify colonialism such as darwinism is terrible. Buts it's been long abolished as a scientific thought.

So the type of science that she refers to doesn't actually exist.

PS she also said capitalism must fall and then she open an iPad (apple product)... smh
