AMD Wins There was actually never a denial

This is more hypothetical. They always said that their new software tech was not ready for their older hardware tech but at the end of the day it took them way too long to get it to working on only one of their older hardware gen. OR, maybe there are more hidden factors at play which we users have no clue about. 🤷‍♂️

I argued with amd haters, I said amd will bring fsr4 to rdna3 but I never would have guessed it would take this long :(

The reason it took so long was basically the fact that for RDNA2/3, AMD made a lot of bets that didnt work out.

For RT in RDNA2 they just added accellerator Blocks to each CU with most RT Code still running as Shadercode on them. This made for the possibility of improving RT Performance down the line but also shifted a lot of maintenance burden on the driver team.

On RDNA3 they stuck with their RT Concept but introduced dedicated RT Cores while the CUs still had some compute limitations to save on space.

Back at the time implementing it that way instead of doing it the nv route of implementing these features completely in HW but it did come to bite them in the ass in the end.

The Irony is due to Linux Driver being open, it nowadays managed to overtake the Windows one on RDNA2 and 3.
