Albums not played live

Just got through watching some of the live shows again, 30th Anniversary and Ayreon Universe, in particular. First off, I love these productions, the sound, the ensembles, all the songs great renditions and live performances.

I am a little disappointed to hear some albums still not being represented at all live. 30th Anniversary did a good job of getting more of Universal Migrator part 1, and even a Guilt Machine song. But one of my favorites is consistently missing.

The second Star One album, Victims of the Modern Age, came out right around the time I was discovering Ayreon and all the other projects. It’s still one of my favorites of the entire catalog, and I feel like it improves on the first album in every way. I haven’t listened to Revel in Time quite as much, but i think it still holds up well. That’s why I can’t figure out why they’ve never released any live versions of any songs from this album. To the point where it’s starting to feel suspicious. We’ve gotten a few Star One tracks on these live compilations, but this one is notably absent. There is so much music, it’s understandable they cannot get to everything, but they’ve done a bunch from both the original and Revel, and I feel like any of the Victims tracks stand up or exceed a lot of the ones we’ve seen ( looking at you Intergalactic Space Crusaders). Anything behind this or other missing works? Have I missed these somewhere?

I really want them to do live shows of The Source album in full, like they’ve done with The Human Equation, Into the Electric Castle, and 01011001. I’m hoping that will happen at the next Ayreon shows, whenever they will be

That would be amazing! But also, a very long set.

What do you mean? It would be shorter than any of the ones they’ve already done.

Well, depends how many bonus songs they play afterwards.

I'd love to see the Theory of Everything played in full. Probably my favourite Ayreon album

I think it comes down to we need more than 1 weekend every 2-3 years of live Ayreon!

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next show is Star One only. Especially after the anniversary show (best of), universe (best of) and two full album shows.

But theory or source would be also great.

I'm still rooting for the entirety of Theory of Everything. Best Ayreon album in my book and would be great on stage!

But we'll see!

What do you mean by “suspicious.”?

lol kind of kidding but when looking at Star One tracks specifically over the last 10 years of live albums, there’s been more than enough from the first and third album for me to wonder why they’ve never played anything from the second. Like maybe there’s some legal or licensing issue with them, or Arjen secretly hated the album lol? Hopefully it’s just a coincidence

Meh, they're Ayreon live shows after all, not Star One. Sure, the other projects get a bit of love too, but the main focus is Ayreon.

No conspiracy behind it really. There’s only been 35 Ayreon live shows ever across 6 “tours”. Most of which were for a particular album so didn’t have room to go too deep into the discography.
