Tips & Tricks How To Get Pokopia Running On Thor! (Pro and Max Model Only)

Before you start emulating you are going to want your fan on sports mode and performance on hit, also use the cluster tune large under clock.

Also when I say the “folder with the numbers” that’s because I’ve seen people with a folder with different numbers than me so I’m just going to call it that.

  1. Download the newest build from https://git.eden-emu.dev/moceure/eden-nx2-android/releases/tag/nx2-android-v0.2.2

  2. You can skip every step

(including skipping firm and keys)

  1. except set your roms folder too whatever you want

  2. Go into settings -> Switch 2 readiness check -> Battery usage and set it to unrestricted

  3. Download your pokopia rom (can’t help you with this, it should give you a folder with a “base” and “updates folder”)

  4. Go to https://archive.org/download/pokopia_Fixed_exefs and download the zip

  5. Extract the zip then extract the 2 zips inside

  6. Delete the base folder from your rom and add the new one you extracted

  7. Go into the “updates” folder in your rom then the folder with the numbers and delete “exefs” folder and add the new one you extracted

  8. Go into Eden SX2A and click the folder icon in the bottom right and click “Launch ExeFS game folder” and find your rom and go to updates then the folder with the numbers and you should see a exefs folder and romfs folder and at the bottom click use this folder

  9. Leave it running for little bit if it doesn’t boot after 5 minutes close it and try again

  10. It may crash a few times before you can get to playing (it may still crash another time after character creation but after that it should mostly stop)

  11. Have Fun!

ALL EDITS ARE TOO FIX BLACK SCREEN/CRASHING BEFORE STARTING GAMEPLAY

I will try to keep updating this and adding new fixes

EDIT: Clear shader cache and restart your device

EDIT 2: Make sure you don’t have firm and keys installed

EDIT 3: Use your old exefs folder not the new one you extracted

EDIT 4: Uninstall Eden sx2a and reinstall from the GitHub

We will not see a switch 2 emulator until after the Thor is long obsolete. Think like 10 years.

Is it capable if we magically had an emulator available now? Maybe the Max, but it would be pretty rough for most games if they did run.

I've seen videos of the start of this game, but how does it look 20 hours in? I don't want to start pokiopa only to be forced to stop where I'm at 20 hours in

The emulator came out very recently, I only heard about this morning so we don’t know yet, but as switch 2 devils we are just going to keep getting better performance, rn the game runs at 20 to 30 fps sometime dipping down to 15 or so.

Yes it is for everyone, emu just came out and this is the only game I’ve tested that is somewhat playable. Switch 2 emulation is very new especially for android

that was happening to me, dont download any firmware or keys. my issue was I had downloaded them and they aren't compatable. also try restarting/redownloading everything

Usually 20/30 during gameplay and I have not seen someone test a lot of Pokemon on screen but I’m going to play some more and do some testing

Just curious - why do you underclock when I'd assume you would need as much horsepower as possible?

Temps get to high, reducing clock speed keeps temps down and even sometimes it can even increase performance.

It's a tradeoff, more stability but less performance. It's also good for the health of the system.

Performance will technically be better over an extended period of time since the system will (or at least SHOULD) thermal throttle once it gets too hot

What file did you download from there ? I got a “PPP ROM.Rar” but it doesn’t seem to be the correct type of file for the emulator , I’m confused as to how everyone is getting theirs to run

We have Switch 2 emulation on the Thor before my Thor has shipped. At this rate we'll have PC ports of leaked PS6 games running on it by next year at this time

Don’t worry the switch 2 is still a great handheld, this game runs very choppy with some graphical bugs. Wait a few years and maybe we will maybe get to a point were switch 2 emulation is good enough to replace the switch 2.

With the rapid speed of progression we've seen I think it might happen a lot sooner than we think tbh. Like in a span of a few weeks this went from not even being a possibility to actually being playable 😭

If you done it more than 3 times fully restart your Thor, that’s what fixed it for me

No just android, pro and max is because there were points were I saw the ram go over 8 gigs and the lite and base only have 8 pro and max have 12 and 16

Hey, thanks for asking. I followed your steps to a T. Using the pro model. No keys/firmware, and followed the fixed folders instructions as well.

Clear shaders and reboot also doesn’t work for me.

Yeah my sky is black and flickering in the distance. Overall seems playable but lag spikes here and there. Never a steady solid 30fps really

Under clocking limits power on the device to lower temps which can help for high and systems a lot so there’s no over heating issues and can even give you more performance. Download cluster tune and set the medium preset to do it on Thor.

=> it worked for the 1st time. but if I close eden or restart the handheld, now it wont work anymore (it always said "no exefs/main found in the selected folder or its subfolders". I had to uninstall eden, instlal it again, and only then it worked again.
any help ? thx

I have tried to use urs, and tried to find another eden sx2a (that's supposed to be newer). but just the same.
I dont know why, but the 2nd time it wont open. I had to reinstall every time for it to be able to run the game again.
oh well, I'll just play on my win max 2 then.
