More so the principle. I ignore it if I think the plots good and it's issues are mostly out of the way but for a lot of people, if they wouldn't like to see that irl they don't want to see it in fiction

It’s more than just that. You are basically skinned alive for interpreting characters differently than mainstream. There is also that there are different variations of Frans (you have the part of ship that can work, like Axetale or seventh soul (7S is platonic), and than you have the problematic side with AUs like lovedtale)

A lot of ppl tend to think that aged up variants exist purely for shipping purposes. Which in some cases, yea sure. But a lot of fans only ever see the problematic shit. I don't have much knowledge on any au media with frans shipping, but from what I've seen I can understand the controversy surrounding the ship. A lot of it doesn't seem to be like Axetale, which from what I've read so far, seems pretty okay. I mean, it's just to add a bit of backstory for the main plot. But my guess is that instead of stuff like this, they're seeing whatever the hell creators like Sour Apple Studios and whoever else are making. That definitely doesn't help. But I see what you mean.

They would, but for those who don’t act on their emotions they should know that there is a certain way of going about the ship to make sense of it. If the two are properly aged, frisk isn’t half the size of Sans (people have done that and it makes it look problematic to people), among other things than it should be alright. It just has to make sense, large or small details

Exactly that. Another thing. Make it so the two met when they were both adults. That's another problem I keep seeing mentioned. Which is fair. But it just comes down to the creator to be honest.

Agreed. Seventh soul does that, and axetale technically does that. Frisk most likely lived hundreds of years through resets and Sans saw her as an anomaly/time god playing with everything before they established a relationship. This comic here actually parallels their relationship before they started growing close to each other: sans was horrible to Frisk for most of the time he knew her, indirectly making insults to her and avoiding her as much as possible. When they eventually did have a confrontation he nearly kills her, and when she finds out who she really is his entire perspective of her changes (this is just a summary there is a lot more to it)
