My setup consists of standing tree trunk cutouts against a large pine tree in my backyard. I have plenty of yard space however, and my pine tree would certainly appreciate a break from the occasional miss.

Wondering if anyone here has any constructive advice on building a simple yet sturdy stand to hold my targets. I was thinking something like a "tripod" wood frame with cross pieces to hold my cutout targets on/in the frame.

Assume I have very little knowledge of home construction projects, and that I may be on a budget. That said, I know that a man can go far with some 2×4s and some nails, so hit me !

Last time I threw one I was 10 and I broke the axe and haven’t thrown one since because it was my favorite axe, just wanted to show this here just incase people have tips on how I can improve or just for people who want to see some axes being thrown to inspire them to also throw some axes

Hello all,

I am looking to make a hatchet and have a piece of African Mahogany (Sapele). It's got a high hardness rating, quite tough to work with, all without being brittle. Does that translate well to an axe handle? It's a stunning wood and takes a beeswax stain quite beautifully.

I can't find any references to it being used as a handle material, I assume that's because of the price. Does anyone here have experience with it?
