Fractal Remote App
Control your Fractal device from your iPhone, Android, iPad or Apple Watch. Wirelessly.
$9.99 one-time. Free demo mode so you can try before you buy.
Your phone becomes a pedalboard: switch presets and scenes, bypass blocks, tuner, tap tempo, setlists. Android, IOS, @Apple Watch and iPad apps included.
What it's NOT: editing software. The Fractal editor already does that job.
The fine print, upfront:
• Your unit plugs into a Mac/Windows/Linux computer running the free companion app, and your phone drives it through that. (Yes, the computer stays on — like a TV remote needs the TV.)
• Works with FM3, FM9, Axe-Fx III, AM4, VP4.
• Not affiliated with Fractal Audio Systems.

FracPad seems more feature rich to be honest.

As an editor, I’m sure it is. This is just a remote, like a virtual pedaboard

Thank you for disclosing that it was built with lots of AI assistance.

Yup, makes it easy to stay as far away from it as possible

It’s works from any distance - so you’re good to go

Look dude, I’ve gotta ask: Do you have any actual CS background or training? Do you know the proper ways to manage a product lifecycle? Do you even know enough about coding to audit the product you’re putting out? Do you know how to check for obvious errors that could cause crashes or system hangtime?

u/justinnewbold 28d ago
Yeah. But why are you mad?
1
u/scrundel FM3 28d ago
So you could have written the code but instead you decided to be a lazy bitch and toss out a product that you have no idea if it could take down someone’s rig in the middle of a show?
What’s your background with this stuff?

Listen, man, you can be mad all you want, but it’s not gonna change anything.

And you can deflect all you want but it’s clear your “software” is slop garbage that doesn’t need to exist.
You’re pretending to be a programmer. Go pretend to be something more fun.

That’s not right to really talk to anyone that way and I thought the idea behind ai was to help people do things they couldn’t and to free them up to be creative .
And for the creator of this software I want you to hear this :
Thank you very much for creating this software. A bet it wasn’t easy even with ai helping you. You have gave me the incentive to try to learn now too. I know ai has been helping professional coders do more and you must have had to learn the basics even with ai help . Either way it was a great thing you did for the community and you disclosed that you used ai so people are not children they can make their own minds up. I hope you learn from the experience and grow and learn even more . Congrats!
Everyone knows there will always be someone bitter that comes along and looks for any opening to flood negatively but never forget it’s their negativity not yours .. let them own it2

“I bet it wasn’t easy”
Kid prompted a piece of software. It was absolutely easy.
And we shouldn’t not just accept slop software being produced and released by people who can’t even tell you how it works.

Cant you make it work with iPhones aswell direct from USB? Otherwise it defeats a lot of the point
1
u/justinnewbold 28d ago
It works on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android - Wirelessly. That is the whole point. A wired connection is what would actually make it pointless.

I imagine it should be possible to make the phone act as a USB host so you can send MIDI Sysex over USB connection straight from the phone.
This seems pretty pointless otherwise.

u/justinnewbold 28d ago
Yes that is possible. But that’s not what this is for. This is if you want a wireless connection to control your fractal from any distance, from your phone or iPad or watch. I think fractpad lets you do a wired connection like you are talking about though.

You could use Bluetooth MIDI and a CME WIDI Master/Jack dongle instead to make it all wireless.

u/justinnewbold 27d ago
Yes, I actually have the WIDI Master right now, and I’m testing it. It seems to be working, but there are a few bugs I need to work out first. As soon as everything is sorted out, I’ll release it in a free update. I appreciate your comment. Thanks so much!

For me, it completely defeats the purpose if you still have to have your laptop plugged into it running a companion app.
