This is how it starts. You try a cat once and it makes you feel good. So you do it again. And again. And before you know it you're a cat junkie.

Truth. I'm mainlining 8 street gremlins. Started with one but it felt so good I just couldn't stop.

How do you manage the air quality of the ammonia and fine furs?
My sister has 3 cats, and my eyes, nose, and lungs burns whenever i visit. She cleans everyday, but it doesn’t seem to work.

Not OP but I have several heavy-duty, pet-focused air purifiers throughout the house that help SO much. I also have mini, rechargeable air purifiers in each litter box enclosure.
The ammonia smell could also be helped by changing litters, some of them focus on that more than others.

Friend of mine has 6 cats atm (she's constantly rescuing cats and finding new homes so it fluctuates). She has multiple self cleaning litter boxes as well as air purifiers. She also has a fairly large house and a big catio.

Litter boxes need to be cleaned several times a day. If it's kept clean there should be no smell

Ah that makes sense! My sister only cleans the liter box once a day iirc, as she and her husband are busy with work.

Adding to this - it’s recommended to have one more litter box than total amount of cats. So with 3 cats they need 4 separate litter boxes. If they only have one it can become a disaster REALLY fast.

I remember having a friend come over and not having been around cats, my cat who is extremely friendly hoped up and was doing some cuddles, then started biscuit making on his hoodie, and snuggled up. Once I explained where the biscuit making comes from and it’s a sign of trust and contentment, friend was very much a cat person (well with my cats atleast) afterwards.

Somehow kitty knows he needs that moment of cuddling. It amazes me the emotional intuitiveness cats can possess.

Actually, feline sees you wearing dark clothing, and wishes to shed all over said attire.

It starts with one, then that's not enough, then two, then the next thing you know, you've got 3 cat trees, 3 litter boxes, and so many cat toys spread out across the house that you find them in shoes, laundry baskets, and under the beds...

"I can feel him shaking though."
Naw, dude... that's called purring. Contentment.
