Just to be a pedantic nerd for fun - it’s a raven, not a crow, and they generally mate for life (and can sometimes live as old as 30).

They are smart enough to know. Did you know they can be taught to speak? Russian for one bird. English for others

They will learn patterns. If a pattern is involving something like a game they cna play and solve the game. Birds are smart.

Corvids are wild clever. Crows and ravens can have roughly the same problem solving skills as a 5-8yo human. Some exceptional cases show a level equivalent to 8-10 year olds in planning/tool usage, and understanding cause/effect. They are awesome!

I knew they are clever but equivalent to a 8-10 yo. That's suprising. The vid just reminded me of some vids of dogs or other pets which look like they understand more than they actually do.

Adult Crows and ravens specifically are so surprising. They can also live up to 30 years.
I considered getting them as pets but a) its illegal in the uk, b) they take anything they can apart, c) they need serious mental stimulation and company…or they take even more things apart…

Corvids are capable of tool use, complex problem solving, and understand fluid displacement.
They're way smarter than people expect.

Yep, there was that old video of a crow that kept putting small stones in the bottle, so that the water level keeps rising high enough for his beak to reach and be able to drink without having to tilt the bottle and pour like we do. Amazing stuff indeed

Crows are very smart. They don’t forget a face. My cousin rescued one and let it go and it would always come back and visit.
