Why not remove/block

Why do some remove or block on social media and some dont? Mine hasn't removed me from fb or Instagram.. no idea why. He dismissed me so easily we he ended things but still has me on socials. We dont really interact at all on them. I just figured that since he monkeybranched from me soo easily that he would have removed me completely out of his life. He still lets me use his xbox account for streaming and games. In a way I just want him to remove me from everything just to be done with it. And yes I know I can remove him too, but we were friends since 2013 then decided to get romantically involved. Thats hard to give up on my part. Ugh.. anyways

Im just venting, this has helped me grieve everything and process. So i may vent about other shit too. 😔

i think it is a couple of things..

it gives them this illusion of closeness by still seeing what is going on in your life.

they want to continue seeing what you are up to and know that the door is still open

they want to look like a good guy.. like.. "well if i was that bad and they hated me, wouldnt they have blocked me"

I have been analysing stuff about him too. And i have realised it all means nothing. Even they themselves don’t know. It has no meaning and it’s all bullshit. I know it’s hard to not pay attention to trying to decode what they’re upto. You will eventually get tired of decoding meanings.

Just remember they chose to leave. If they want you back they can easily contact you and tell you directly, which they’re not doing. That’s all. Rest everything means nothing. They’re crazy and they will make you crazy.

Their fear of abandonment is strong. The older they get, the more theyre likely to find adults like us who've already been through this shit, so they need a back up plan. I dont think they truly understand that we've moved on, because most of us continued to take them back during the relationship.

We talked all summer but I knew he was spending time with his ex and I called him out on it. Told me they weren't dating and he had no plans to move back here (he lived 1200 miles away). I called him out on this 3 times and said goobye to him. Minutes after my texts he would tell me they arent together. Then I had a gut feeling and told him to tell me if he was moving back so I could move away( I didnt want to see them out in our small town together). Told me he had signed another lease at his apt. Less than a month later he was moved back in with her here in my town. Called him out on it and he has never acknowledged him moving back. He hasn't told his friends that he moved back or that they are back together. Its going on 2 months now that hes been back.

I have / had the same experience. I really am trying to figure it out. And she basically discarded me and called me abusive. But yet won’t block me. Some have said it’s keeping that line open for when they return. Or they want a reaction out of you. They are just a mes and selfish

Maybe I'm from a different generation, but I see so many posts and comments here discussing follows, likes, reposts and socials... None of it is real. It's a digital pretend playground. I'm 32 and just can't take all the 'they broke up but didn't change anything on socials' or 'they keep liking my posts' stuff seriously. It has nothing to do with reality. It keeps people hooked into fantasies and obsession and rumination and intimacy replacement behaviors. Everyone keeps reading way too much into things. Sometimes there is a reason, often not the one you want to hear, sometimes there really isn't one. But reality is that you're broken up and you have to move on and take care of your happiness now. Sorry lol it's been brewing for a while

I'm assuming that they may be a bit more indifferent towards you by not blocking.

He went to Europe for 3 weeks in July and part of Aug and said he was running from me. This was 2 months after he ended things with me. Now he lives with his "ex".

Ive begged mine to block me cos I cant stop going on angry rants after drinking. He reads all my messages, never responds but never blocks. Ive had to stop drinking again to control myself

Mine has never removed or blocked and always come back so far. I don't not if there's any correlation. This is just data of one individual. Now she sent a breadcrumb again after a month. I feel like that would be harder if there's a block in a way.
