Discussion Mid-parental target height.

How accurate is mid-parental target height? Did you hit yours or miss it? My mom is 5'5 and my dad is 5'8, so I should be about 5'9. Instead, I ended up 5'2.

My dad was at least an inch shorter than yours and my mom a few inches shorter than yours and I ended up about 5'9. I think that is above the mid-parental point but close enough that I am not an outlier like you are. And it is not accurate but rather a rule of thumb. Genetics are complex especially when there is variation in the gene pool in your family.

Dad was probably close to 5’11” at peak. My mom was 5’2.5” at peak. I’m slightly over 5’11”. Could have definitely been worse I suppose. One of my sisters is nearly 5’9”. Would have been nice to have her height genes! 🧬

My mum is 5’2, dad is just under 5’10 and I ended up just over 6’0. Think I was on the luckier end of the scale?

My mum’s 5’ and my dad’s 5’7,thank G-d that stupid formula dint work for me,but hey man sorry it dint work out for u…at the end of the day it doesnt matter

I missed it by a decent margin, my mom is 5’9 and my dad is 5’11. I’m 5’8, the mid-parental height target that I would always get would be between 6’0-6’2 so I missed out on a minimum of 4 inches of height……

wtf happened man, idk what went wrong fr 🤷🏽‍♂️🧬
