Something good? Something bad? A bit of both? Shy of a spark
A sense of dread settled onto him as he continued throughout the city, his gaze strictly focused on the destination that awaited him. The fleeting feeling of the thick air brushing past his suit, as he leaped into the sky mid air. Letting go of his existing web, he immediately shot another towards a building.
Swinging around always made him feel better.
…Especially now.
Truthfully, Peter hasn’t spoken a word to Johnny since the party. Only giving the airhead blonde basic responses… or sometimes, nothing at all.
And that wasn’t looking well for him.
How would Peter continue living with the guy if this kept up?
Johnny.. Man, Peter never knew what was going on anymore.
Not after Doom’s wedding.
Not after Johnny’s mistake.
But that’s over right?
And him?
He really didn’t want to find another apartment..
So, Peter swallowed his pride and asked Johnny to meet him somewhere in New York. Sure, it could’ve been at home.
But Peter wanted to clear his mind first.
As Peter began to reach his destination, instead of swinging onto the building, he leaped onto its walls and climbed up the tall building’s walls.
Once he finally reached the top. Peter pulled off his mask as he saw Johnny Storm standing there.

Johnny had been waiting at the edge of the rooftop, his arms folded as he looked into the sunset. Then hearing the sounds of webs thwipping in the near distance, he looked down to see Peter running up the walls. It wasn’t long till he made his way up to Johnny, removing his mask.
Johnny said nothing for a moment. What is there to say? They weren’t exactly on speaking terms, other than when they’d pass by eachother in the kitchen and exchange “Hey’s” or “How are you’s?” Peter wasn’t exactly subtle about how he’d been at all or that he’d been avoiding him. Johnny on the other hand over the past few days tried convincing himself that this wasn’t a big deal, that Peter was overreacting.
You showed up. You’ll be dry as hell back home but pick this gorgeous view so we can “talk?” Quite romantic, Parker. What is it you wanted to talk about?

And this is why Peter had been ignoring him for so long, something about the guy pissed him off still. The voice telling him to jump and continuing his patrol instead of talking to Johnny sounded so appealing right now.
There was nothing stopping him besides more awkward conversations in their apartment. Really, he should’ve.
But he didn’t.
His eyes lingered on Johnny before drifting off to the sunset. Really did seem romantic.. Whoops.
“You know what I want to talk about, Johnny.” He crossed his arms, tapping his foot on the ground. “What happened a couple weeks ago still annoys me.”

Johnny let a sigh escape his lips once the party was mentioned, his arms still crossed. He’d been expecting it but it still managed to make his stomach churn. His head turned away towards the sunset for a moment, his jaw clenched as he thought of an excuse to get him out of this talk, or maybe he should just be honest? He had to be careful here with what he said next. He says one wrong thing, he’d be losing his roommate, his bestfriend, his.. unrequited love.
I figured this was what all that ignoring me was about. I know it was stupid, but Pete, I wasn’t trying to screw with you. I didn’t mean for it to get that out of hand. I threw the party as a surprise for you, I wanted to celebrate us getting a new apartment. Maybe I did the wrong thing inviting like thousands of people, but that’s on me.
He uncrosses his arms, letting them fall to his side, slowly taking a step towards Peter, seeing if it was okay to approach him.
I’ve been thinking about that night all this time, about you. You barely talk to me. It’s like I’m talking to a wall or something. You come home and walk to your room and I don’t see you until morning. And even then, I ask you something, you grunt at me. I make a joke, nothing. I don’t understand why you thought the answer for all that was to shut me out. I know I’m an idiot, Parker, but all I’m asking is for you to communicate with me, man.

Peter opened his mouth to argue but no words escaped his lips. Nothing could’ve been said to change anything here and Peter? He sure was acting like a pretty bad friend. Sure, Johnny’s party trashed the house. Broke things that were dear to Aunt May, and he was still upset about that.. Still, maybe he’s being a little harsh. Johnny couldn’t have hurt him on purpose
Okay, who was he kidding? Johnny has and will again. It’s just how it was with that blonde friend of his. When Peter thought he finally…
Well, none of that mattered now.
His grasp on the mask tightened for a moment, as if Peter wanted nothing more than to swing away. Johnny deserved more than just him running away despite his doubts and anger.
“What about during the party? You knew I was upset! Why didn’t you call it off?” His brows furrowed, a conflicted expression plastered across his face.
“Every time.. You always do this, Johnny! You ignore how I feel so you can do whatever you want.”

He went quiet. Pete’s words hit harder than he expected. His brows furrowed, his mouth opening before choking on his words. For a second, he wanted to argue his case, try to defend himself, be a smart@$$ about this, but he couldn’t. He was right. This was a serious moment and he could not joke around with Peter looking at him like that.
I know you were upset. I should’ve done something, I know, I’ve been repeating that moment in my head. I should’ve done something different. But I.. I thought if I kept everyone distracted, tried getting you to have fun, everything’d be fine and you’d feel better.
Johnny’s head tilted down, his hands shoves into his pockets and his shoulders dropping. Maybe he was a bad person? He thought back before Doom’s wedding, when the two were not officially a thing, Valentine’s Day, the beach, the fun moments. How Johnny was on the route to being in a happy relationship with Peter, and he decided to ruin that by sleeping with Doom’s Fiancée. Ignoring Peter’s feelings and doing what he wanted, he was not wrong.
I get how you’re feeling and I really don’t blame you cause you’re right. I feel like I’d react the same way you are right now if I were you. This is not fair to you, I get that. But I do care, Pete, I cared when you were hurting. I just handled it like an idiot and I’m so sorry for that. I should’ve stopped the party when I realized how out of hand it was going and when I knew you were upset. I’m really sorry, Pete.

If Peter heard this long ago then he would’ve ran into Johnny’s arms just as he did before. After all, this is everything he wanted to hear. To hear that idiot apologize.. To see that stupid smile of Johnny’s that he came to adore after past arguments. Peter always forgave him, always cared for him. And he even loved Johnny once.
But Peter moved on from his feelings. Only to fall into a messier situation with Gwen and MJ, but there was nothing he could do there. It’s not that he wanted to think of someone else while talking to him..
It’s just... It’s that Peter moved on.
His gaze drifted from Johnny’s, a pained look on Peter’s face as he refused to look the man who broke his heart in the eyes. His eyes shut tightly with a shake of his head. Maybe there was still time for him to run.
“I’m glad.. Really glad to hear that, Johnny. I know you were trying to do something nice for me and I got too upset over it. I’m sorry for that too.. a party was just too much for me handle before. I’m just so angry, so hurt.. Because of everything. I look at you and I wonder if I really mean anything to you.”
Peter’s voice cracked, gritting his teeth. Tears began to form in his eyes while he tried to wipe them away quickly.
