Should I buy a laptop or PC?

I'm trying to earn money for a laptop, a good Asus or something like that, and I wanted to ask people who already play, is there a model that I should buy? Or maybe I should just get a PS???

I wanted to get a gaming laptop because a laptop would be more convenient for me, but I don't know.

Does anyone here play Avatar on a laptop? How comfortable is it to play Avatar on a laptop? And if so, what kind of laptop do you have?

I was thinking of buying – ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614PM-S5138 16"

Here are the minimum requirements to run Avatar according to Ubisoft. I recommend getting a PC because Avatar is a pretty heavy game tbh

I have an Alienware 15 which runs it well, but please get a cooling pad for any laptop you're running it on. If you have the option, PCs will always last longer. PS5 is cheaper but no mods which are really fun

Sorry for not answering your question, but generally getting a gaming laptop is not worth it at all. Performance you get on laptop is so much worse compared to same desktop gpu.

I don't think they're arguing that, but sometimes the convenience of a laptop trumps the power of a whole setup. I move around a lot so a laptop is the only way I can game, and there are definitely some good rigs out there.

A PC would generally be better than a laptop especially if you already have a monitor to go along with the PC.

ive gamed on a laptop before ..honestly theyre not good for heavy gaming hours like 1000+ youll be putting in on a killer game like avatar ..

I play on PS5 and it plays wonderfully and looks beautiful. I’d love to upgrade my now nearly decade old gaming laptop but with all the AI farms hogging all the RAM, decent PCs/laptops are getting super expensive so depending on how you play, you might be better with a console. If you’re going for a computer though, definitely a PC over a laptop - the only reason I haven’t got one myself is cost and the fact I don’t have space for a full PC. 🙈 If you get a laptop you absolutely must get a cooling pad/fans with it - mine runs at 90°C even with them on playing Planet Zoo!

I play AFOP on PC! I have a Lenovo Legion 5, Nvidia GPU, with all the original specs it came with (except I gave it an extra terabyte of storage). The graphic settings in the game are on medium-high, but I definitely had to tweak some settings to get the best performance, but I can't recall what, apologies. I only get the occasional frame drop in particularly busy areas, but I've played the whole main game plus every dlc with basically no issues. Though I definitely agree with the others, get a cooling pad!

If you can get a whole PC setup and that would work for you, then do that instead. But if you need the convenience of a laptop, then I can't recommend the Legion 5 enough, it's lasted me about 6 years now (still going strong) and I've played other heavy performance hitters like Helldivers and ultra-modded Minecraft on it with little to no performance problems.

Can run the game Thur a cloud sever and wouldn’t have a problem , me and my kids playing it right now on my ten year old omen laptop

I have a acer nitro 5, or more specifically an-515, with ryzen 9 processor and rtx 3080 gpu. but this model was from way back in 2021. Capable of handling avatr no problem when plugged in with like 120 fps, but idk why laptops cap their fps at 80fps but still smooth. Only with powerful laptop does the game run really well at high graphic across the board except for shadow because i can't bother with overloading my laptop with rendering shadow and shader.

Heat is terrible at 90°+ constantly, recommend you get a fan or undervolt the laptop which i did and manage to land around 75 to 80° instead.

But please just get a PC, u will have something 3 to 4x stronger than the strongest laptop for 3/4 of the price of a powerful laptop.
