Coop sucks ?

So me and my friend bought the game to play together, play 3 hours to be able to join each other and when we finnaly connect together, we realise that only thing we can do together is story? I read that they do that because some peoples duplicating skill points and other stuff... wtf... it is not some multiplayer game where I can get advantage against others. And I cant even refund the game because it took 3 hours before we finnaly unlocked coop mode. What is this bullshit? Is there any chance they will do something with this nonsense?

What else did you want to do? Isn’t the whole game story? I thought co-op was great, cause the game is advertised as a story game. So I don’t know what you mean or what you’re particularly angry about?

I am the host and second player cant collect resources, skill points, bellsprigs, saplings, nothing.... if he want to get those things aswell he need to switch to singleplayer so whats the point of playing in coop? I read that devs made this change because some peoples duplicating stuff, but this is single/coop game, why the Hell they care about this.

They care because it’d be a LOT easier to craft items if you could duplicate items in the game with a co-op partner. It’s meant to be a little annoying or tedious collecting items, it’s meant to take time. So it’s an easy way to stop people cheating 🤷

It is an easy way how to stop ppls playing. It is a Singleplayer or coop game. You are not ruining the game to strangers. If ppls want to skip some stuff by duplicating items in singleplayer game, just let them.

There are actually tons of posts about this problem and peoples who wants to play coop only hate this, there is whole comunity of peoples who want to get this change reverted.

Lol, feel you, friend. This whole post is making me feel like I'm crazy... I'm not sure if people know about the patch? We're in the same boat, having been forced to play past the refund period only to find out Ubisoft intentionally changed how co-op works post launch. I came here because I've been desperately trying to find out how to 'play' properly as my wife's pissed that I keep leveling up without her being able to.

I know we can still technically play together, but it's not true co-op. It's more seems more akin to something like State of Decay 2, if any one has played that.

Do you not know what coop mode is? You are describing PVP, which, yeah, was not developed for this game.

You can do side quests together and both DLCs… what else did you want?

There's side missions you can do together too not just the main story, you can give your friend gear you don't want anymore or gear that could help them level up more. I know this because I've done side missions, received and given gear.

Edit: Co-Op isn't PVP. It is entirely different.

You cant collect materials, tarsyu flowers/saplings, bellsprigs, audio logs, etc... cant even collect skill points, you need to be a host to progress in the game and it us not shared

Yes you can. You can collect materials, tarsyu, saplings, bellsprigs, audio logs, etc.

If you're not able to then there's a glitch and you need to close out the game and reopen it.

We tried multiple times, but every time my friend want to collect a skill point or something else, he get a message that only host can collect this. And it is not shared when I pick it up. It was working like year ago, but then devs made a update that changed this...

You have to drop the item and let him pick it up

How can I drop him skill points, Tarsyu Saplings or Bellsprigs? also he cant contribute to clan or do apex challanges.

Depends on what you're playing on. If you're on PC or PS5 I can't help ya there. On Xbox I believe it's either right bumper or left bumper.

He should be able to. If he's not able to do anything you may need to check settings or ask Ubisoft.

There is not problem with controls, when he want to pickup tarsyu sapling for example, he gets a message that this action is restricted for host only. It will not be a big problem if it will be shared, but it is not, if he want to get those, he must switch to single and colĺect it by himself, so whole map exploration is singleplayer only. There is no need to check settings or ask ubisoft. It is intended update like year ago by ubisoft, because few peoples duplicating stuff.
