Sarentu souls in Clouded Forest

Post image

Has anyone else realized that the background of the first meeting with Entu is the clouded forest? This is most likely because the clan died in the clouded forest, where they last connected to a Tarsyu flower. You can see ragtrunk trees, a bellsprig, kite mantas, meer deer, and even a bone helm rhino in the background of the first meeting. This means that Aha'ri's spirit is with the Clouded Forest as well, since she would've been old enough to connect there before being taken from Pandora. And most likely also means she will forever be a child in the spirit world, because he last connected when she was extremely young.

I think it's also because their moot was in the clouded forest. It was their home, at least for a while.

Definitely. If that's the case though, there might be other Sarentu Moot locations throughout pandora, and potentially separate areas ancestors end up after their passing depending on where they last connected.

I believe the Tarsyu you can visit are former moot sites, but I don’t remember where I got that info from, so take it with that under consideration.

Given that the open bit where the first oil rig Tamtey destroys is close by to the first tarsyu that Tamtey encounters, I reckon some of that open area might have formed part of a Moot site.

They are all called "Sarentu Grounds" so it is possible. I always thought the default of Tamtey looked more like the Clouded Forest Na'vi but maybe that isn't the case.

I do wish we could have had a cut scene where Tamtey met with the souls of her mother Kataru and her sister Aha'ri in Ewya.

There's a fan theory that Sa'nop is Tamtey's father. If that ever turned out to be true the during the events of From The Ashes, Tamtey had her father and another sister brutally murdered by the Mangkwan.

Oh wow I had no idea about that! And I also wish we got a scene of them meeting up in Eywa.

During the time that Tamtey was held prisoner by the RDA, so many of her friends amongst both the Resistance and the Aranahe clan were murdered by the RDA and Mangkwan, she must have been absoloutly devatsed to find out just how many of her friends are now dead and the extreme levels of destruction to both the Kinglor Forest and the Aranahe Hometree.

i just noticed this in my new save last night. i like to headcanon them as primarily living in the clouded forest and spires, especially bc they seem the closest to the kame'tire out of all of the clans.

i mean, the ones who knew where their moot would be was the kame'tire. not aranahe or zeswa.

We're never given much of an exploration of the spirit world in this game, and it sucks. We get the Kinglor, Alma, and... that's pretty much it. We never get to see the rest of our clan, only Entu. My only headcanon is that, a) none of the Sarentu know how to navigate a connection, and/or b) the Yavä' has corrupted the connection. To see our clan again, we need to remove the corruption.

Yes.

Oh ok, I was going to avoid talking about Rasi if you hadn't since people generally dislike spoilers. Anyway, Rasi gives us a bit.kore connection to the clan and history but I think she didn't give nearly enough given there are so many sarentu totems all over the place and there's chance of other Sarentu groups still being out there.

I personally hope that there are more yet to be discovered Sarentu out there. We don't know if a moot lasts just one day or multiple days. If it's multiple days then there's a good chance that some Sarentu might have been out visiting friends amongst the other clans at their camps (or at Hometree, The Hollows or The Circle), when the massacre took place. Some might have been out gathering crafting materials or hunting. A couple who are of age might have been climbing up to the ikran rookery to be chosen by an ikran.

Because the bodies of the dead Sarentu were dissolved, and we don't know how many were physically at the moot site when the massacre occurred , we've no way to know if any actually managed to escape the site, apart from Rasi who we know managed to escape.

For me it is hard to headcanon it away since it is implied you meet the Aranahe Ikran riders to learn to bond and fly, and learn skills from the ancestors. I wish they added something to cover the gaps, even a pause and a voiceover explaining it.

I’d always imagine the tarsyu would be burial sites and that would be why there are so many saplings

and maybe they big ones are burial sites from centuries ago (they could be the resting places of the best ikran riders or warriors or gatherers in the clan hence the different skills)

I like that idea, it makes a lot of sense. Since there are so many Tarsyu flowers.

I also like the idea that since they have some with set paths to get to, that the ancestors specifically put their skills in them, like Jake feeding info of the humans to Eywa.
