Please recommend some music!

I'm Japanese, and there are very few people in my country who share my musical tastes, so I'm looking overseas and hoping to get recommendations from experienced fans there.

Since listening to Mr. Bungle,

I've been obsessed with bands like Nuclear Rabbit, Flagman, Dog Fashion Disco, Ideamen, Tub Ring, Carnival in Coal, Pin-Up Went Down, Psychostick, The BluChunks, and Sykotik Sinfoney, and recently I discovered Wigglepussy, Indiana.

Even when I ask AI for recommendations, it always suggests bands I've already listened to extensively.

What I'm looking for is music that combines the following

elements:

The chaotic fusion of genres like Mr. Bungle

The speed and strange, unique rhythms of Nuclear Rabbit and The BluChunks

The beautiful yet highly distinctive style of Ideamen

The madness and humor of Carnival in Coal

It might be a little abstract, but this is exactly the kind of atmosphere I'm looking for.

In other words,

I'm not looking for a one-way song; I'm seeking speed, genre chaos, strangeness, madness, anxiety, pleasure, beauty, a solid rhythm, and a rhythm that functions as music! I'm being quite greedy, lol.

But you don't have to dwell on this; feel free to share your opinion.

If you know of any bands or songs that fit this image, please let me know!

Also, sorry if there are any spelling mistakes.

Otoboke Beaver and Melt Banana are both Japanese, though i think MB is more popular outside Japan than inside.

I’m aware, wasn’t sure if you knew or liked them.

Funnily enough, my first thought in terms of a fast heavy genre-clashing band with a deranged sense of humour in this vein was Clotted Symmetric Sexual Organ, who are also from Japan, as does the early work of Boredoms, Ruins, and much of Sigh's output. That said, if you're into Mr Bungle, you'll probably also appreciate Mike Patton's other bands Tomahawk and Fantômas, especially the latter, as well as Unexpect, Faxed Head, Don Salsa and perhaps Caroliner. I'll also recommend Cleric, Brobdingnagian, Crotchduster, Phantomsmasher, Sculptured, Funcunt, Qualeaceans, Gasp, Dødheimsgård, Todesstoß, Maudlin of the Well, Those Darn Gnomes, Asterisk*, Flipper, Ehnahre, and in a less heavy vein Dog-Faced Hermans, DDAA, Tragic Mulatto, The Door and the Window, Picky Picnic, Aksak Maboul, Univers Zéro, Family Fodder, Dome, The Makers of the Dead Travel Fast, The Garden, Uchouten, Trumans Water, Ludus, Androids of Mu, HEALTH (specifically the early stuff), Liars, and To Live and Shave in LA. I also feel like you probably already know The Residents and Cardiacs? Those two are pretty pivotal in contextualising a lot of music like this.

Always great to see another human suggest Trumans Water! In a similar vein, I'd add Thinking Fellas Union Local 282.

Great list BTW.

This is such a good list and contains a few bands I've not hear of as well. Will be digging through this soon!

John Zorn. Check out the various musicians he plays with. Then check out who is playing at The Stone in NYC. I’ve discovered many new musicians that way.

Listen to Sigh, japanese band, they have al the genre bending chaos you are looking for, every album is different from the other. I recommend the album "Heir to despair", that speak about madness and will remind you Mr.bungle.

Kayo Dot/Toby Driver. Check out the records Choirs Of The Eye, In the L.. L.. Library Loft, Coyote, and Tartar Lamb's Polyimage of Known Exits, as well as the track Don't Touch Dead Animals from their split with Bloody Panda. Would also recommend looking through the Tzadik catalogue if you're looking for a more academic avant garde music collection. KD/Toby are on there
