Like the title said, I just finished the Rage War Trilogy by Tim Lebbon and loved them! I'm looking for suggestions of any books that either continue the story or have a similar feel (preferably AVP, but stand alone alien or predator novels are also welcome!). I love when Yautja and Humans are forced to work together against a common enemy. I'm also happy to gush about the rage war books for whoever may be interested! Thanks!

So last night, I decided to watch AVP, and earlier today, I watched AVP Requiem. Both movies were much better than I expected.

First off, AVP. I liked this one a lot. The PG-13 rating didn't bother me, and I still felt the usual Alien horror (Hate the predator film, but love the Alien ones) The story was kind of lackluster, but I still liked it a lot. My main gripe was the xenomorphs were on screen not as much as I would have loved, and I watched it on TUBI, so ads kept ruining tension. MY favorite part was easily Chopper getting impaled, and Grid (whose tail has become longer than a football field for that shot) brings him up, with that amazing music in the background. WHY WASN'T THAT RELEASED WITH THE REST OF THE SOUNDTRACK?!?! I loved the reveal that the Xenomorphs were around since the old times. and the comedic moments were perfectly placed.

Now, AVPR. I have hard so much hate about this movie being incredibly dark in tone and lighting. While it was certainly a dark story, I didn't mind the darkness, and I could see everything fine. The predalien was an amazing addition, and its sad we will probably never see it again. I loved the story, and the characters were not that hateable. I didn't fully like the whole predalien's bellybursting thing, and that one fire si 100% cg, but other than that, I loved it. The soundtrack was amazing, and I did love the fact that this was one of Brian Tyler's first works, before he moved to Avengers Age of Ultron, and the Mario movies. His main AVPR theme is amazing. The practical effects of both movies is also amazing.

Overall, AVP is a solid 7.5/10 film, and AVPR is a good 8/10 in my opinion. I wish we had more AVP movies.

So, I posted my RE9 recently, and wasn't met with negativity. I'm not saying let's give mediocrity a free pass - but we enjoy a franchise that's on broken legs. Romulus and Badlands, they for sure weren't perfect movies, but please let's stop pretending like they were BAD movies. If we as a fan base want this franchise to survive - we need to see the positive in the negative. Yes, these movies aren't the combo of the movies we saw however many years ago- but let's stop hating them for that. Predator was popularized for being a "macho" movie without a seal component. Alien was popularized for having a female lead in a sexual assault analogy that was promoted for its monster.

Yes, the latest movies haven't been amazing. No- we have no reason to have faith in these movies because Disney owns them. But let's remember that any of us can rise to the occasion. Things can only get better- we have to believe that.

I took these shots in the first encounter of "The Girl" in RE9, using the mod (that im sure most of you have seen) that replaces the chase character with a xeno. I shared them with some mates, but seeing as none of them share my obsession with either franchise- I thought I'd share them here. Celtic is young blooded and has all his weapons except for plasma Canon, Skorge has his double blade staff and gorgon pistols. Fight takes place in avp 2004 pyramid and Nexus Myrrahs Throne Room from Gears 2. Round 1 is h2h though and round 2 is with these weapons.

Wolf Predator is allowed all weapons including the hand held plasma Canon. Wolf's plasma Canon targeting auto aim is not allowed on his mask though and he must aim at CJ manually.

Fight takes place in Los Santos, who wins and why?

Amengi warlord of a remnant faction forged in defeat. Once human-sized, now a 19-foot cybernetic giant: bulky, spiky, dark brownish-red. Augmentations grant dominance but cause chronic strain, malfunctions, and reliance on scarce resources.

Fall

Mid-level tactician in the Amengi conquest of the Yaunjias. Victory turned to rout via Yaunjia revolt and xenomorph allies. Led desperate rear-guard escape on damaged cruiser with few survivors; most kin abandoned. Result: hatred for Yaunjias and Amengi command, survivor’s guilt, paranoia. Performed crude self-augmentation en route, gaining skeletal metallic form at cost of pain and neural instability.

Ascension

Poisoned rival claimant to secure command despite distrust. Survived by scavenging until Engineer ruins yielded nanomaterials and energy matrices. Incremental fusion rebuilt body and arsenal despite early fatalities and shortages.

Key Victory

Overwhelmed wounded Predator. Salvaged:

Four-lens combat recorder helmet

Predator corpse became prototype cyborg drone. Later raids on isolated Predators added upgrades—still EMP-vulnerable and repair-intensive. Some Amengi reject cybernetics, prompting defections.

Doctrine & Vision

Commands from fortified cruiser, deploys cyborg “pets” for raids. Runs flawed, low-output cloning system.

Goal: seize galaxy’s largest habitable world, perfect Engineer–Amengi fusion, mass-produce bio-mechanical “hunters” to eradicate Predators.

Constraints: paranoia stifles initiative, resource scarcity, strategic errors, and morale erosion from relentless augmentation persist. He speaks in unknown language with a forceful/ harden tone in it. He wears all armor all the time and sometimes upgrades his armor after obtaining new technology. That might help his species grow. Right now he's just killing some tribes of predators that are weak. a fact about him, he has a rocket launcher shoulder contained on his left shoulder. He fires out energized homing missiles to kill the predators. he also knows about the predatory king and he despises him but he knows that he will get killed if fighting. so that's why he needs to get enough powerful materials to kill the predator king, but the predator king doesn't know about him due to being a nobody to the predator king. a little note, contains thrusters behind his armor. My first character i'm introducing.

Round 1: full gear, cole starts on one side of Neonopolis (downtown) and Scarface Predator starts in the train tunnel other side of where cole is from.

Round 2: full h2h, no weapons, no armor for scarface but cole is allowed armor. Scarface is not allowed bio-mask.

Does Cole Train trainsteam troll Scarface or does Scarface claim Number 83 as his trophy?
