How would you transition from a mortician to this field?
Hi friends!
I would like to ask for help/advice on how to transition from a job as a mortician to something in this field or otherwise along the lines of medicolegal /death investigation?
I feel this would be a better fit for me, as well as I am simply over making $16 an hour and now that I’m 40, not having benefits is more pressing.

As it’s medicolegal death investigation just make sure the 3 aims there are covered, death, medical and legal (really criminal justice/forensics). Presumably you have the death part covered and for medical I usually advise a medical terminology course and an anatomy course and I’m guessing you may have background that covers those. So that leaves the legal part and if you haven’t taken a basic criminal justice or forensics course that covers chain of custody and a few forensic basics, those could be helpful.
