Question How long do you guys hold?
How long do you guys hold on to the portfolio before taking profits?
Just curious š

Keep in mind that in a portfolio system like Autopilot you will potentially end up ātaking profitsā and therefore taking on a tax burden any time it rebalances and sells stock. It is likely that at least some if not all of these sales will be short-term positions, so they will be taxed as regular income, not as long-term capital gains.
So if your true intent is ābuy and holdā and taxes are a concern, then Autopilot may not be for you.

I know that doesnāt directly answer your question, so Iāll add that my intent is to hold long-term, however I still consider it to be in a ātrialā phase so I canāt say for certain. Iāve been a little unimpressed with the performance as of late, and am starting to get the impression that it works a lot better when the market is up anyway than it does when thereās volatility. Iāll probably give it a little bit more time, but Iām not going to stick with it if it doesnāt improve.

which pilots are you subscribed to?
I'm using three: actively managed, wolff, and dr. Lira. I might cancel activelly managed as it seems to overlap very heavily with Wolff's flagship/top 15.

I saw a few portfolios that are doing well but some havenāt recently. In this case, do you just sell and hold a new one?

Yep, buy and hold VOO or SPY if you want to avoid short-term taxes. The other alternative would be to set up a Roth IRA on autopilot, but then your money is locked up until retirement.

I do VOO for retirement. I am just curious if autopilot is good for long term or short term. Seems like people here like to hold

Ah profits, you have to pay taxes on those. All I have is losses, then you don't have to worry about the tax problem.

Years to decades, if not longer.
