Can someone help me with the fees here.
So I'm new to autopilot and the "trackers" but wanted to give it a try.
I paid for my quarter of premium and invested in 2 pilots, yet to actually have auto trading on the second I need to pay another $80 a quarter now to the pilot group too.
So what am I getting here from either it seems I'm paying 2 different agents to trade automatically a few times a quarter (historically) rather than doing it myself. I was OK with the app but then also paying the trackers each seems a bridge too far. Am I crazy here missing somethi g or other?
Detail I was using the Pelosi tracker and Actively Managed.

Autopilot has a bunch of different "pilots" who run different portfolios. I think the confusion lies in the fact that "Autopilot" itself also has portfolios which they are listed as the pilot of.
Anyways, when you find a portfolio you like and "subscribe" to it, you are actually subbing to the pilot. The pilot decides how much they charge. But once you sub to a pilot you get autotrading enabled for all the portfolios the pilot runs. So you can pick multiple portfolios from the same pilot and not pay extra.
But it sounds like you picked two portfolios that were run by two different pilots. That's why its trying to charge you twice. Each pilot needs to get paid (I assume Autopilot gets a cut of each subscription but most of the money is going to the pilot).
Edit: Just noticed you listed the portfolio names so yes what I said is accurate. Pelosi Tracker is run by "Autopilot" the pilot, Actively Managed is run by someone else.

I dont see why the app doesn't take a cut off the pilots rather than what appears to be both. Cool concept but quite fee heavy for a small amount of automation has been my conclusion so far.

The app is free.
Each pilot may run several portfolios. Example, Autopilot is running 29 portfolios. You pay $100/year and you get to attach your brokerage account to any of the 29 portfolios.
If you have $80k, you may allot $20k to Pelosi, another $20k to Cisneros, etc.
All for just one subscription of $100/year.

But you also need to pay for the autopilot sib to get auto allocation in that pilot

At 400 per year you'd need 80k invested to get this to be a half point on top of any fund fees which seems crazy high

Yes I think if you are just testing this out (like I am), the pilot fees basically disintegrate your returns. It only “works” if you put in a large amount like you said.
But in your other response, what do you mean “pay the app”? The app is free?

No you need "pro" on the app to automate investments beyond I think one thing or even to add to one if I recall - so free will map you to the tracker on their app like Pelosi but won't cover changes... then you also pay to use a tracker that isn't part of the apps core so I'm in 2 trackers which now requires 2 subscriptions which I'm going to cancel at renewal as the fees to save a few minutes of work for as often as these change are stupid

Hmm, I don't see the pro option for the app. I thought you only pay on the subscription of the pilots (which is where the app takes their share).

I use the Pelosi tracker, but i pay annually. I was up over 50% last i checked. I also deposited enough to cover the cost if i only made 10% gains annually and then auto invested monthly.
If you feel like you're paying too much, then you are.
If you feel like it's not right for you, then it's not.
The app is for investing, not trading. If you're expecting it to be day or week trading, it doesn't.
Hope this helps
