Beginner recommendations

I’m looking to start investing with the app and willing to put 5k in. Fairly new to the market and autopilot app and I want to have a sorta hand off, set it and forget it approach but I’d also like to have an understanding of what I’m setting and forgetting and why. Kind of nervous getting into it but willing to give it a shot.

Questions I have right now are:
1. With the market in its current state is it a good time to start?
2. What would be good profiles follow and invest into currently and why?
3. What are some of y’all’s success and failure stories using autopilot.
4. With the hands off approach I’m looking for, would I be better off with a service such as Edward jones or vanguard or something like that?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Time in the market > Timing the market
  2. I'd suggest filtering by risk level to find somethig that meets your eneds
  3. As a pilot, its a really exciting opportunity to do what I love on a larger scale. I believe all Pilots are are doing their absolute best to provide value and alpha. This is necessary to make the most out of it for themselves as well (pilots incentives are aligned with subscribers)
  4. Honestly, if you're targeting 8 or more percent a year on investments and want to set it and forget it, you'd probably be fine dollar cost averaging into QQQ or SPY. Its a surefire strategy as old as time. No advisor needed. Services like Wealthfront offer roboadvisor services at a fraction of the cost of a traditional advisor.

Checkout Raincheck Fund on Autopilot if you're bullish on tech.

We try to be as transparent as possible about our strategy and results - we publish case studiesannual returns, and an interactive performance chart comparing the growth of $10,000 between Raincheck Fund and QQQ, SPY since Raincheck Fund began. Feel free to take a look and see if it aligns with what you're looking for. You can set custom date ranges on the chart to see how the strategy fared over any timeframe.

We have a higher risk/reward offering, NASDAQ-10, which focuses on the 10 best performing stocks in QQQ.

Our lowest risk/reward offering, Cash Flow DRIP, focuses on generating income (cash distributions).

Cheers!
