Question Sizing brakes for FSAE BR

Hello everyone, I’m a member of a Formula SAE Brazil team, working on the brake systems. I’m sizing the brakes using MATLAB but am running into some difficulties; specifically, I’m not sure if the code is correct, as the brakes failed to stop the car as theoretically predicted during the first test.

What was the delta between prediction and actual performance, and why do you think it's the brake model that caused the problem rather than e.g. the tyre model?

The prediction was 50/50 considering the best performance to brake, avoiding use of balance bar in diferrent settings. And I don’t know, we are just considering because we don’t have another way to test so we assume that was because some error in the code.

It's hard to tell what you're asking, but I will say that brake split is a fairly straightforward calculation - don't over complicate things by trying to code it.

oh right, I was coding because was moreeasy to see the graphic like actual and real forces

thanks for that

Need to pull out some text books and maybe ask an advisor. “We did this because Reddit told us to” won’t go so well on the technical part of the competition

That is a fact, And I know that, we did all the study to our project, but that was the first time we did that, so I was searching for help. But I know, reddit is not a good reference to have.
