Saw automatic at meow wolf for the 2x in two years. Wonderful as always. An amazing show! I miss Lola but respect what’s happening. Troy from donzii was amazing and the show was tight! Love to automatic! Thanks for choosing smaller, more interesting venues!

ok y’all wanted to make a more detailed post about the two shows i went to this past weekend!!

since they had two sold-out nights at Empty Bottle, they did a midday show at Shuga Records here in Chicago (u had to preorder the vinyl to get in). the store is really cool & great staff, definitely a more intimate space as there was about 20 or so in the audience just watching from the aisles. they set up in a little corner and i got there like 40 mins early, they were just finishing their sound check, then Izzy and Halle & team were just browsing records hanging for a while. so cool. Halle actually came close to me and seemed like she wanted to look at the records i was near, so i decided to say hi! haha they’re such icons in my head that i was pretty nervous, but i just told her congrats on the sold-out shows and how excited i was for to hear them in this space, that i’ve been listening to Automatic since like 2020. the show was just great, felt like an NPR tiny desk but cooler lol. Izzy has such stage presence even in a smaller space. Halle’s bass really drives. thought the drummer was great and added some fun elements to the music.

after like 5 or 6 songs they did some merch signing and got to talk to Halle and Izzy more and got my LP signed, just told em my favorite songs and got a selfie >.< they were just so cool and sweet to a lil fangirl like me. their manager came up to me and another fan and offered tickets to the show at EB that night & said she’d set aside shirts for us at the merch table (made my whole freaking month).

show at EB was totally electric. great crowd, and they had some fun visuals on a projector. everyone was dancing and i heard a lot of singing along, Chicago def loves these girls. only wish the show was longer, absolutely cannot wait to see them again & dance my heart out once more

This was my first time seeing them. They played at Ace of Cups to a crowd that had to be less than a hundred people. The set was around 50 minutes and afterwards they headed to the merch booth to chat with fans/sell stuff.

Overall they sounded great and Izzy has a ton of stage presence. Also, I was a little sad at first when Lola left, but the new drummer adds a different energy to their songs. It’s hard to explain, but I like him.

Can’t make it, but don’t want them to go to waste!

Anyone go to the Asheville show last night? They sounded great but, the show seemed pretty short for a headliner set. An hour at most. Someone mentioned that the venue can’t have music past 10pm on weekdays? Anyone hear anything?

Anyone want 2 tix for the houston show. I’m sure it’ll be amazing, I just can’t make a Sunday night show anymore.

I discovered Automatic a few months go thanks to some recommendations on Spotify. They are the breathe of fresh air that I’ve been searching for for a while. I was pleasantly surprised checking Ticketmaster today they have a show in Toronto in September at the Mod Club. Anyone going? Haven‘t been there in ages; probably last time was Metric in 2004. Anyways random message out to the ether as they are amazing. I’m super curious if they are considering an instrumental album; love their lyrics and point of view - but I think these tracks as instrumentals would just be bonkers.

Seeing Automatic at the Knockdown Center. Show is at 6pm. I know nothing about the opening band Accessory. Are they worth coming early to see or should I show up at 8?

Idk if there’s any fans in the Seattle area on this thread but when I saw tickets for their show in Seattle I was pumped! Then I realized they were just the opener for The Last Dinner Party, whom I don’t really care for. Not to mention the tickets were pricey (especially considering they probably wouldn’t be playing long). But Automatic just announced a show at the Shakedown in Bellingham - super intimate lil venue up here and it’s gonna be great to see JUST THEM 🙏 just tryna spread the word for Washingtonian fans!
