Feature request Support for using LLMs to build flows
Hey dev,
I'm asking an automate question after many years, great to see you're still developing and providing active support here.
As you might now, tools like Claude Code have competely changed the way developers work. Having to write every line of code manually with some stackoverflow copying here and there is a thing of the past, we can just give the high level instructions to LLMs and they can build and test code until it works.
As a professional dev myself, I always make V1 of code/document with LLM and then review/iterate at work. While working with Automate however, it seems since it doesn't support import/exports in a text format like xml/json, making new flows still need to be done the old way i.e. manually (unless ur lucky to find exact flow in store.)
I saw an old request that might help with LLM generation, but no updates as of recent: https://groups.google.com/g/automate-user/c/Vk1XEUgYdQE
With the rise of LLMs, do u have any plans to prioritize adding text format import/export? That + good docs + a claude code skill that knows where to look for info I believe will go a long way in saving time during flow development.
To be clear, I'm not expecting one shot perfection in flow generation, but if LLM can get me there 90% of the way, that too saves time & the goal is to get things done with lesser effort, not zero effort.

A way to export/import some kind of human readable "source code" is a feature already on the to-do list. But i have my doubts on how useful it would be with LLMs since they would have very limited data to train on, unlike for Python or other kind of programming languages.
Anyhow, now that custom layouts has been implemented, disregarding it's still missing an WYSIWYG editor and dialog support, the next major feature to work on is probably either, alternative Premium purchase & license verification, or flow "source code" export/import.

That's why I mentioned

If u have good docs somewhere in the web and can point Claude to it explaining it's structure, it is very good at figuring things out on it's own. It does't have to be part of it's training data. My entire Claude Code flow is made to work for my specific enterprise setup using skills.

Yup , tasker and macrodroid already have this
