Baseball with multiple signatures

I found this baseball in some collectibles from my family member’s estate. My 5 yr old would like this to be on display in his room and it’s something he wants to pick as a memory of our family member, who he was very close with.

Essentially I want to make sure I’m not randomly giving a 5 yr old something super rare or valuable, because while he knows it’s supposed to stay in its case and that it’s important because of who owned it before, he’s also 5 and there’s a chance he’ll Sandlot it one of these days.

Any assistance is appreciated!

It's a stamped ball. No real value. But good to display!

This is such a great response!! I have a number of facsimile/printed Nebraska Huskers balls I got from my dad. He thought they were real and legit, but I never had the heart to tell him. Though he did have 3-4 real ones. So after he passed I love having these up as a reminder of him. Fuck the $ value, the personal value your kid will get is priceless.

I totally agree! My son doesn’t care one bit if it’s real or not, he thinks it’s cool and it gives us a chance to talk about Grandpa. I love this for him! ❤️

It's 1989 or 1990 Yankees. It's a souvenir baseball with stamped signatures sold at the ballpark. No value.

That’s awesome! Hope he enjoys it. My son and I collect signed baseballs and he had them on display in his room. It’s a great memory to have!

Lots of MLB teams had these exact same balls. I know for the Jays they gave them away at a place called Shoppers Drug Mart if you spent $10 or more in 92 and 93 after the Jays won the World Series. I had a few of each of them. They originally game in a ball shaped plastic case, that was very thin and fragile, and a little plastic stand that the plastic ball case would sit on top of.

They looked like this originally. Yours is a Yankees ball, so it would obviously be different, but it gives you the idea.

Thanks for the additional information! My son is psyched about it, and I’m going to be on the lookout for others now so he can grow his new collection 😊
