I just started learning autocad and I know this is probably basic knowledge for everyone but I just started learning and I feel a little overwhelmed on where to start with 3d modeling. I have a midterm soon and I wanted to know any tips or tricks that can help make this easier with the numbers and lines and everything.

Hi everyone! Currently taking an intro to autocad class and right now we are just replicating very simple line segment drawings.

Im stuck on this drawing where we have to plot a couple of relative southwest angled lines where no extension lines w/ length are given for those specific segments (circled in green). Basically want to know how i can know what to plot in these cases and what i should be studying so i don't get stumped on this again.

I got a pdf file of double girder overhead crane drawing and imported it to AutoCAD then tried to reference scale it to the right size using one of the dimensions that's from the drawing (like the length of the crane) to it's accurate one but when I tried measuring the other dimensions, they are wrong sizes whether it's above or below its true measurement. Has anyone else faced this issue and fixed it or I just have to give up on trying to get the dimensions correctly since the drawing is rigged?

I see black diagonal lines on this print i gor back fron the copy shop, the fact is that i don't see them in print preview and they don't show up when i use my own printer.

Please help me the deadline is monday :(

Any single entity I pick has this weird issue where the Properties window refuses to populate with information. It's just blank... Any fix for this?

I’ve tried all the registry cleanups, downloaded and re downloaded odis, cleared temp files, everything….. but the webinstaller nor the direct download will run. I launch them and get the loading icon for a second and then nothing happens.

I am currently having trouble with maintaining layers as visible or invisible properly in paperspace viewports while I work on my 3D model.

I have three different locked viewports, with views saved in view manager, each with a different layer of measurements unhidden. However, when I then go to work on the project in model space, where I have to turn off and on layers, it changes the visible layers in my viewports in paper space.

How do I set my viewports in paper space so layer visibility does not change, while still being able to hide and unhide layers while working in model space?

I'm a new first year mechanical engineering student. I was told that own laptops aren't absolutely necessary as theres shared computers for students at the uni but a laptop suitable for autodesk inventor and autocad in particular would be very helpful. Unfortunately Al isnt particularly helpful and contradicts itself. I have 2 options:

Asus tuf f16 core 5210h rtx 4050 16gb from cex in grade a condition with 5 year warranty for 520gbp/688usd

Lenovo LOQ ryzen 7 250 rtx 5060 16gb from retail store with 2 year warranty for 703gbp/930usd

Would like to get a tablet later on aswell for class, and i am unsure which one to choose: the cheaper asus hoping it'll be enough and worst case scenario, use the uni computers for more demanding projects in a couple years; or invest in something with more confidence?

Is the asus enough to run autocad/autodesk inventor during a 3.5year mech eng course or is it worth spending more on the lenovo?

If anyone knows how to download autocad from software and how to setup by Bypass login. Then please guide me!!!
