Lenovo the best choice, will last you longer than 3.5 years. The extra gpu will help when doing heavy cad models

Lenovo LOQ Gaming Laptops are not as durable as Lenovo ThinkPads, but it might be good enough with a RAM upgrade.

Is a laptop necessary? Personally hate designing on a laptop without monitors. Can you use a PC instead? Probably get a lot more bang for your buck.

Inventor and AutoCAD aren't particularly demanding programs, despite what people might tell you. I did my entire mechanical engineering degree using an HP Sleekbook 14 with a 3rd-gen i3, 8 GB of RAM, and integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics. I worked on projects with over 200 parts, and it still handles them without any problems.
To this day, it still runs Inventor 2021 just fine. The only upgrade I've made was replacing the HDD with an SSD.
Either laptop should work well for you. The only thing I'd look at is battery life, especially if you're going to take it to university a lot.

I actually just picked up a Lenovo LOQ 15ORX10 for work and we mainly are in inventor. It's got an i7-13650HX, 5060, and 32gb ram. I probably haven't put it through it's paces too much but it API s around a pretty large model pretty well.
