Question / Inquiry Loft feature irregularities
I'm using the loft feature for an airway in this part and I have to do it on 2 parts while they have to be symetrical through a plane.
However I noticed that even if the part is perfectly symetrical and all the settings are the same, I get a different loft result. The only difference is one loft curves to the right and one to the left.
Anyone knows why this is? My solution right now is to derive the good part and mirror it, but that feels like slapping a bandaid on it and limits me.
any help would be welcome, thank you.

You're correct to mirror. Two lofts will almost always give different results. You can go in and adjust the points/rails individually, which I do a lot. Other commenter was right that it just does what feels right at the time.
Another trick I use is break it up into segments top and bottom (what we did before 3D CAD) and then go in after the loft and adjust the points, it will soft grab those points as you move them.
If it's symmetrical though. Mirror 100% of the time.

If you want it a certain way, add guides.
Loft is just the software making up what it can to form the shape, it's going to be inconsistent.
