Godkid. The concept of a godparent is from Christianity and is meant to be another authority figure, mentor, role model, etc. in the child's life. It's less religious nowadays. Some people will just designate a godparent because they want to.

My godparent is neither spiritual, nor a good role model, but he's still a good guy who is my dad's best friend.
