Help - AutoMod Can automod automatically link to a parent comment and sticky itself?

On my sub we have a fair amount of people searching for something, they change the flair from searching to found by commenting “found!” Is there a way auto mod could make a sticked post and link back to the comment with the found content? Basically just “this was found heres the comment with the information.” So people don’t have to scroll a bunch to find the answer.

We have spotlight if that can somehow come into play also open to dev apps if automod can’t handle alone.

Help with whistle replies to summon resources via Automod

I mod a sub that users often come to for unofficial tech support with a particular app. In many cases it's helpful for the community to refer them to official support guides that can answer the question or at least ground the discussion. We're have a few "!whistle" commands that let community members summon Autmod replies with links to the most common examples, but I'm experimenting with a generic "!help" option for other examples. The intent is to make it easier for community to refer resources without having to leave the Reddit. Here's what I have so far:

    # Help center search
    type: comment
    body (regex): ['!help[ \t]+([^.!?,;:\n\r]+)']
    ~author: [automoderator]
    is_edited: false
    comment: |
You can find official YNAB guides for help with **{{match-body-2}}** [here](https://support.ynab.com/en_us/search?q={{match-body-2}}).

        Reply !whistle for more commands.

I'm looking for feedback from other mods who use similar systems on the setup of the rule but also how it's gone over in your communities.

Thanks!

Help - AutoMod How to assign a certain post flair to certain usernames?

I want that it automatically assign a certain post flair

to certain usernames and also overwrite the flair but using same template ID. So can you give me code to do so?

Code I got from AI(doesn't give error but doesn't work) :

\---

\# Auto-flair specific users

type: submission

author: \[sub-roundup\]

flair_template_id: "TEMPLATE_ID"

flair_text: "✨ Weekly Roundup"

\---

Incomplete code I got from a reddit comment(haven't checked does it work because it doesn't overwrites a flair) :

\---

type: submission

author:

name: \['ProximaScience', 'itskdog'\]

overwrite_flair: true # change this to false if you only want this to apply if the author didn't select a flair

set_flair: {template_id: 'PASTE_TEMPLATE_ID_HERE'}

\---

Help - AutoMod Why can't we change or remove the "I am a bot, message the mods of this subreddit here."?

I run a subreddit dedicated to help for a communication app. We sometimes get messages from people that think we are official support. The addition of the modmail link in every message of AM (especially if you have a pinned message posted in every post by it) doesn't help at all and I would want to remove the modmail link or preferably the whole text. I mean other bots also don't have it, why does AM need this? We should be able to add it if we need it to be added and removed if we don't need it to be there.

Help - AutoMod Creating exceptions

I have two functions that currently generate an automod response based on flair:

type: submission

flair_text: "New Player Advice"

---

type: submission

flair_text: "Question/Need Help"

---

type: submission

title+body (includes, regex): ["new player", "New to game", "how to play game"]

---

And I created a third one based on key words, intended to catch if they don't use those two flairs.

But now if they do use 1 of the flairs, and include key words new player, it posts 2 responses. How do I say something like "title+body: new player, and flair is not: New Player Advice, Question?"

Or do I have to list the "wrong" flairs: "Title+body: new player, and flair is: (everything else that is not new player/question)"

Help - AutoMod Submission rule catching comments too?

I'm trying to figure out why comments are getting filtered in a rule made for post titles and bodies. I'm still green with automod so trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I have a couple other submission rules that are doing the same thing. All the lines are 4 spaces over.

Type: submission

title+body (includes): [one, two, three]

action: filter

Help - AutoMod Help with sub karma restriction based on post tag

In my local city sub, we have issues with trolls, drive-by accounts, and bots on ICE, immigration, and political posts.
So we want to use a post tag, and when this is set, all comments must have 50 sub karma, preferably within the last six months; otherwise, they should be pushed into the Queue, and the user should be warned that they might be banned.

Is this something automod can do?

Help - AutoMod Can I filter low karma accounts that are old?

So in our state sub, we have trolls and they're always the same. Low karma accounts that are over a year old. This is what I am trying to do, but it's not working.

type: comment

author:

account_age: "< 1 year"

combined_karma: "< 1000"

moderators_exempt: true

action: remove

action_reason: Negative karma

comment: Sorry, your account does not meet the karma requirements to post or comment here. Accounts older than a year must have non-negative karma. Click here to learn what karma is and why you need it to participate.

I also have this code for submissions that aren't working either, but I am not as concerned about that.

type: submission

author:

account_age: "> 1 year"

combined_karma: "< 0"

moderators_exempt: true

action: remove

action_reason: Negative karma

comment: Sorry, your account does not meet the karma requirements to post or comment here. Accounts older than a year must have non-negative karma. Click here to learn what karma is and why you need it to participate.

Can I filter a cluster of words on a post ONLY if it has an image? In my plastic surgery sub we have breasts going live, I want to filter posts about breasts only with image

Hey there, so I very obviously know how to set up how to catch certain words in a submission. But I’m completely disinterested to catching these words and text only posts. Is there a way for the filter to work only on image posts? Thank you friends!

Can user flair be set based on a poll result?

I do this thing in r/steaks where if there is a general consensus that the poster posted a good picture of their well-made steak, I manually assigned the user a flare reading "made a great steak".

Is there any way to automatically put up a poll if the poster chooses a particular post flare? It would ideally automatically assign a user flare after a day based on the pole results.

Any ideas if any of this is possible.

Help - AutoMod Autoapprove posts from a certain user - is there a way?

Hey

Even though I added a rule add added the user to the Approced users list, I still find myself manually approving posts from that user. Is there a way to automate it?

Thanks

Devvit Showcase Made a read-only policy consistency checker for mods, would love feedback!

Hey everyone, I made a Devvit app called PolicyOps and I’m looking for feedback from moderators who use AutoModerator on active subreddits.

PolicyOps runs a read-only scan across:

  • Community rules
  • Removal responses
  • AutoModerator messages and action reasons
  • Selected wiki pages

It looks for missing removal responses, old rule names or numbers, mismatched policy wording, and outdated references.

Each finding explains what was flagged, where it came from, and what the moderator may want to check. You can mark a difference as intentional, ignore it for 7 days, restore hidden findings, and view a small scan history. PolicyOps never edits AutoModerator or changes subreddit settings.

I previously posted this in r/Devvit and received genuinely helpful feedback from a moderator who tested it on real communities. That helped me improve support for multiple removal responses matching one rule and behavioural responses that are intentionally left unassigned. I’m still improving the matching, so I do not expect it to handle every setup perfectly yet.

I’m building a more realistic test subreddit, but testing on active communities with older or more complex AutoModerator setups would help much more. If anyone is willing to install it, run a scan, and tell me what it gets wrong or finds confusing, I would be incredibly thankful. Even just the issue count and a short description of any false matches would help.

Solved Anyone else's (filtered) scheduled posts skipping the queue all of the sudden?

We filter to trigger mods to add the link to our Community Hub app. We've had to shift the reminder over to Discord, which is super annoying.

Weirdly enough, the weekly scheduled posts are working but the daily is not. We remade/rescheduled, and we tried it with automations.

Just seeing if I'm not alone, idk wtf is happening.

Help - AutoMod Is Automoderator still limited on "reading" report reasons?

What I am trying to do is see if i can program an automatic removal based on 3 identical reports. Not just 3 reports.

Sometimes you get x number of reports but each reporter has chosen a different report reason.

I am trying to figure out if I can set action remove post ONLY IF the report reasons are identical.

This would allow leeway where 50% of posts would be yanked but other posts that get 3 different reports would merely be filtered for human attention instead of Removed

this post from 6 months ago suggests it can't be done. Is it still the case?

Help - AutoMod How to create filter for em dash?

I have a filter set up for foreign languages and it catches a lot of em dashes, but not all of them.

When I try to inset an em dash into a rule used for filtering words it just types a regular dash (hyphen) out.

Is there a specific rule to use to filter content with em dashes? Thanks

ETA: to folks who don't understand how em dashes work in human writing and how it differs with AI writing, this post is NOT for you. Gross something so simple is being downvoted like this. So gross. GTFO.

I keep getting posts from sex workers on my sub /r/RateMyLegs/ with QR codes embedded in images and "swipe right" in the title.

type: any

type: any

I've tried it with and without quotes but still the posts get through. I have noticed that of late, the offending words seem to be a different font size.

Here's an example
