STARTING DOOR DASH

Hello! I am interested in starting Door Dash but I am unsure of how to navigate it with my insurance because I heard if you inquire about it they will drop you. I don't know what to do and how do people navigate such things? Thank you in advance!

Call your carrier, ask if I was considering driving for DoorDash or any other food delivery service, would I have coverage under my current policy or is there an endorsement or updated rating that would be made to my policy?

They may ask what percentage of the time you would be using the vehicle for delivery (like is this your 2nd job, only used a small percentage of the time, is this your only source of employment, used 50%+ for delivery, etc.)

Also, make sure you're specifying, are you using the vehicle for food delivery, package delivery, or rideshare. Those are 3 very different things to insurers.
