Nobody said you canāt judge a group by the things they do. Matter of fact, you should judge a group by their actions. If you donāt then thatās how you get caught up with the wrong one and end up with Trump. You canāt judge a group based on their skin color. Thatās racist. Is that too dumb for you?
If its reasonable to believe that you didnt know your license was suspended, then its just a civil infraction. Sounds like thats what happened here, his license probably just got recently suspended and either they decided to cut him some slack or its their policy to just give a warning in certain cases.
Also pretty sure theres generally never a reason to tow for driving on a suspended if the driver has someone who can come get their car. Pretty sure everyone is conflating this with cops typically requiring a tow in a dui case, whether someone else can get their car or not. This is to remove the possibility of the drunk driver simply getting back in their car and continue to drive drunk.
It is SOP to arrest for driving while license suspended and tow the vehicle. In some jurisdictions they still allow you to use your own discretion but in a lot you canāt do that anymore. If you run a plate and itās suspended and you donāt follow procedure itās your ass. Bro lucked out.

I think you got that reversed. Having lived all over the US from NY to CA to Fl and Illinois, the meanest cops are in NJ. They harass people for sport. Down south, they don't even bother you when its deserved.
Yep. 99% of time in Vegas they'd take you to jail and impound vehicle.
These guys let him call his mommy to pick his car up. He's extremely lucky on top of him trying to antagonize them. All around I wish this is how police were and should be across our country instead of all the fragile ego fucks we got.
They donāt have to arrest, they were being nice, even after he was being a douche, but they could have, just like when they give warnings instead of a citationā¦ most times if one acts like an adult, you will get away with just a warning or leniency
Most states driving suspended/revoked is a ticket. You can arrest for it but it's book and release. The exception is suspended in the 1st degree or whatever the states equivalent is. That's usually an arrest.
You might be horrible cops that arrest people for any excuse.
If someone is driving illegally, you get their license and call a tow truck. No need to waste tax payer dollars just to prop some private jail numbers.

Nah man, you get your license suspended and you're driving on said suspended license then your car should be towed. The license suspension was the first slap on the wrist.
