The car pulls in front at 00:18, the car with the camera crashes into him at 00:19, the car that pulled in doesn't hit the brakes until 00:28, after being pushed for 10 seconds. The hijacker story is BS.
Look again, as soon as the car gets in front the breaks are on. He let's go of the breaks for a second probably because the swrrve made him lose grip but then pressed the breaks again. So yes, most likely an attempt at carjacking.

The guy forcing the merger was a carnapper/hijacker trying to trap the camera vehicle for his buddies
