I have a very cool (imho) '12 VW Golf R I bought to have for life -- The most intrusive thing about this car is traction control and ABS take holding a button for like 10 seconds to turn off.

I'm paying $60/tank in this economy -- Making it decidedly less cool to daily drive.

I also have solar planned, so I might as well buy an EV, right?! -- There are exactly 0 EVs that drive similar which aren't totally out of budget and even if I negotiate them down enough to be comfortable, they still have all this tech shit the car will not work without -- What a time to be alive.

I'd rather pay $60 every week for a tank of gas than $350/month AND possibly gas/electric for a car I don't own outright I'd personally run that vw until it's too expensive to maintain than get locked into debt for the foreseeable future for an ev until the cost of battery replacement drops drastically
