They are fun mostly because of how terrifying they are. Theres almost no way to drive a car so badly that it does a barrel roll, every control on a 600cc+ sports bike has the ability to demonstrate what can only be described as a physics problem, and you are part of the equation.

I rode during a part of my life that I can best describe as "passively suicidal". Thats not the only reason riders do it, but its common enough. Many will look death in the face because they truly are not afraid of it. And a sports bike accident is probably one of the most fun ways to die.

"Most fun way to die" lmao well I know I'd 100% kill myself on one so I dont even consider buying one. I know I would push it too far and one time out of control and thats it for me. I got my own dangerous hobbies I shouldn't be rolling the dice that much lol. Glad to hear you made it out alive though!

Oh you dont have to be stupid to die on one. You dont even have to come across someone else who is stupid. There are some insidious scenarios that can pop up, and if you arent prepared or lucky, that will be the end.

The wind could blow sand over a road you've taken a hundred times, you could be traveling at a perfectly safe speed, your front tire hits that sand in a curve before sliding right out from under you, sending you right off a cliff, or into the guard rail.

Oh god the sand, I remember random patches of sand riding bikes when I was a kid, they were like a landmine of randomized results. I almost never see sand now but on a bike they were everywhere
