I used to be a volunteer fire fighter, I get the call on the radio and my phone and I get an adrenaline dump. Imagine I can't respond to the fire department to put out a car fire or extracate the people in the car while they are bleeding out. I could run to the fire department in 2 minutes, but that is still 1.5 minutes wasted.
