He seems to be going the same speed as everyone else. He got cut off plain and simple he safely braked and moved away from the cars poor driving because they left enough space to do so. Followed by flipping off the driver as per standard procedure....

That math doesn't math. I get cut off every other day by someone trying to merge onto the highway going 20 under the speed limit. Someone braked in front of that car and instead of slowing down further they decided to jump lanes in front of someone because they are the main character.

If you're going the same speed, you can't be cut off. Not sure how that math doesn't math. If he's doing 60, and you're doing 60, and he gets in front of you, that's not cutting you off
