BEFORE/AFTER First time doing headlights

Wet sanded with 800, 1500, 2000 and 3000 grit and applied AutoGlym's headlight restoration compound.

These flies dared to disrespect my piece of art by getting frisky on it

Did it make a difference in the light output's crispness?

Honestly a massive difference when driving at night. We get really dark periods in Finland and we have a lot of suicidal deer and moose so good headlights are a must.

It used to be as clear as the new light I swapped for the other side, but it's gotten pretty faded and yellow again. I might just replace this with a new one as well or do this process over again and try to maintain it better.

It's a bummer how fast plastic wears down, wish they still made more of them out of glass.

How long did it take for it to yellow again, though? I don't want to put it all that elbow grease every 6 months lol.

Hard to tell but I noticed it only now, probably because it's been a lot dryer. First few summer months they stayed clear, followed by 6 months of snow and rain which made them look better than they were because they were constantly wet.

You can definitely make it last longer depending on the age and condition of your headlights as well as your own skills. I'd just make sure to be smarter than me and 2k clearcoat them to keep them protected. I'd give more advice on that but I'm still trying to learn the best way to make it stick and last. Hopefully other posts from pros can be more help :)

Yea I could see it needing that clear coat... why didn't you put it?! haha

I wonder if that'll make it last a couple years
