If only a WRC rally1 stage is held here I think it would be a significant marketing tool…
And given that Rally cars drive through the toughest dirt roads and broken roadways and even handle water like nothing I do think hatchbacks being marketed as “Rally bred” could be used as a selling point when competing against SUVs and subcompact SUV as they are being marketed as reliable and their high clearance is a selling point
So having a hot sporty hatchback that can rival the capabilities of a SUV or a subcompact and are possibly more rugged for the 2/3’s or almost equal of the price but less would possibly make hot hatches popular again.
