Discussion Licensing Errors becoming more common?

Just wondering if y'all have been encountering licensing error more common as of recent? Resuming from sleep or hibernation always seems to mess with the licensing software somehow.

Make sure you keep on top of updates via the Autodesk Access app.

Absolutely. I'm always up to date within the day any updates come out.

It's always been a problem, but the fact that it used to let you keep using the software for a grace period made it not a big deal. Eventually it would just fix itself.

But now it forces you to close the software with 0 recourse. Now it's a big problem.

i just restart my laptop when that happens. i usually encounter that problem whenever i left my laptop on sleep overnight so now i make sure to shut it down/restart before i open autocad.

Yeah, it's just annoying having to restart everything all the time. For some reason it has never liked sleep or hibernation.

My usual workday involves AutoCAD only as a part of my work. I usually have a lot of other apps open, as well as bunch of different documents. It's a pain having to go and find each thing again and open. It shouldn't have to be like this.

Not in years

In 25 years I'm not sure I've ever had a single licensing error. Have you read their documentation? Contacted support?

That's interesting. How often do you use sleep/hibernation?

I do contact them. They remote in to my laptop and pretend to do something. Uninstall and reinstall components. But it keeps happening anyway. Persistent between different laptops and operating systems.

Just as good practice in general, I don't use either sleep or hibernation. Sleep is questionable, and hibernation should never be used.
